U11A Boys Hockey v Loretto
The U11 boys rounded off their hockey season in style with a 6-1 victory over Loretto this week.

A slow start saw the boys take time to find their rhythm, with Loretto applying plenty of pressure and executing some lovely play earning them the first goal of the game. Despite this, two well worked goals from St. Mary’s saw us take a narrow 2-1 lead at half time.
Time to collect our thoughts at half time clearly made a difference, as the boys came out with renewed energy and focus. All positions were much sharper in the second half, particularly in the defence, where composure on the ball helped shut down our opposition’s attacks and built momentum for our attackers.
A big thank you to all of our supporters who came to cheer us on - and have done all season. It has been a pleasure to coach the boys this term and I look forward to hearing more of their hockey successes in years to come.
