Boarding Blog - week ending 20th February 2026

The first week back after half term brought some sunny days and, despite the cold weather, plenty of happy faces and excitement.

The week began quietly, with focused prep sessions and the usual cosy evenings spent keeping warm indoors. However, the highlight of the week was undoubtedly Mr Rooney’s wonderfully organised “Escape from St Mary’s” evening on Wednesday after squad matches.

A fantastic 43 boarders took part in a night filled with riddle-solving, challenge-completing, and racing around campus following clues and collecting envelopes—all while trying not to be spotted by the ever-watchful jailer, Miss Pugh!

It was an extremely successful evening, full of energy, teamwork, and plenty of laughter. A brilliant way to kick off the new half term in boarding!
