4th XI Cricket vs Fettes
Wednesday 29th April 2026
St.Mary’s 70 : Fettes 70
Captain: Harriet W
Our match against Fettes on Wednesday ended in a competitive draw, with both teams scoring 70 runs in an evenly balanced contest. It was an encouraging performance, full of promise and effort, while also highlighting areas for continued improvement.
There were several standout moments during the match. Erin produced a real highlight in the field with an excellent catch, showing great awareness and composure. With the bat, Masie provided excitement by striking our first six, demonstrating positive intent and growing confidence. Rose’s contribution was just as important, with her outstanding work rate shining throughout the game; she worked tirelessly for the team in all areas and set a strong example.

Across the squad, there were plenty of positives, particularly in energy, commitment, and willingness to take on responsibility. However, the match also underlined the need to keep developing our communication, especially between batters and in the field. Clearer, louder calls and stronger teamwork will help us make the most of tight situations like this one.
Overall, a well-matched game against good opposition, with lots of promising play and clear learning points to take forward. Well done, all. Mowden next!
