Sometimes someone just starts you off on the right path.  That someone was Gordon Wyllie (R.S.A), my Art Teacher of Greenock Academy who persuaded me that I really could have a career in Art.  Armed with that self belief I completed by BA (Hons).

Experience teaching at summer art schools in Scotland and America followed.  After graduation I worked with various agents in London who sold my textile designs.  This was an interesting time but that teaching bug was still nagging away!

So I spent a rewarding year at Moray House to gain my P.G.C.E Art and Design.  Next came an opportunity to work as an Art Curriculum Support teacher in the Borders.  For ten years I completely enjoyed the variety of working in so many Border schools, including working in the St Andrew’s Arts Centre.

A little career break to concentrate on my children Finlay, Harris and Mac proved to be the greatest learning experience so far!  So now I’m delighted to be starting an exciting new chapter at St Mary’s.
