Trailcams - Predator Perch

Last year, Forms 3, 4 and 5 helped to set up a trail camera in the Middle Field. This is a small camera that automatically takes a picture or records a video when an animal walks past.

We captured some amazing pictures of rabbits, foxes and even a badger. Since then, we have bought two more trail cameras and these have been loaned out to St. Mary's families with amazing results.

With two cameras back at school for the Lockdown period, we decided to see what wildlife was living in the fields near St. Mary's and down at the river.

First of all we built a big perch from scrap wood and a tree branch to attach the camera to.

Then we screwed it to a strainer post in the Middle Field.

We  got lots of pictures of jackdaws:

We also set cameras in some woods on the far side of the Tweed and along the river itself.

More pictures to follow!
