Rawthey Run

rawthey run

We were thrilled to participate in this year’s Rawthey Run as last year’s was cancelled, thanks to The Beast from the East. Twenty four fit and able youngsters accompanied Mr Inwood, Stefan and myself and we tiptoed into unknown territory. With the town of Sedbergh bathed in glorious sunshine, we were met by over 300 fellow runners and a short but testing course, which included an icy water jump!

All runners went out hard and fast but paced themselves well, and I think enjoyed this new event. We were particularly proud of our medal winner, Anna B, who was placed 3rd in the U11 category and thanks to the whole team being placed in the top 20 (out of 68) the U11 team were 2nd overall. The U13 girls team too came 2nd overall with Libby B, our team captain, the best placed, in 4th (out of 62).  Both boys competitions were also incredibly tough and we were thrilled when we spied Caelan sprinting home in 18th position(out of 71)

We could not be prouder of this dedicated young team, they gave it their all and deserve hearty congratulations.
