Monday 21st May
On Monday night the children had some free time after revising or completing work in prep to unwind and soak up the sunshine. Many got stuck in to games of tennis on the courts and a number chose to work on their batting and bowling in the nets. After lots of exercise, it was time to head in for toast and milk in the Boarding Houses.
Tuesday 22nd May
Tuesday night was a very busy night with both houses filled to the gunwales. The swimmers had a great time at the pool playing water polo with Stefan while the mountain bikers put the cyclist through their paces on the Middle Field. Mr Brown continued his King of the Boarders World Series of supersize kick rounders. The pink exercise ball was booted like Mr Blobby to all four corners of the Front Field by a merry gaggle of players. The children are working and revising hard in prep and everyone had a choice of amazing activities to let off some steam.
Wednesday 23rd May
We welcomed a big cohort of boarders into the school for Wednesday night. A number of the Form 8s opted for an extended revision session in the Hamilton Building while a group headed across the road to Gibson Park. There were a number of very wobbly children when the giant carousel stopped twirling! Our cyclists were set a number of challenges by their expert coaches such as track stands (staying upright in a small area for as long as possible), agility tests and racing starts. The cyclists (and their coaches) are greatly enjoying these amazing experiences!
Thursday 24th May
Thursday night started with chess with Dr Morgan followed by Science Clinic for the Form 8s. With tennis coaching going on the courts, we all headed down to the river for some fun exploring in the sunshine looking for stonefly creepers amongst the rocks and huge clouds of mayflies lifting off the low water. Mr Rawson and Stefan showed off their stone skimming ability and carried out an impromptu litter pick along the shore before heading back in the sunshine. What a fantastic evening.
