U10 Hockey v Loretto

Wednesday 8th November

Loretto Nov 1

It was lovely to visit Musselburgh today for a return match against the team after our initial fixture this season in September.  After many weeks of training sessions, we knew the afternoon would be tough, and it was!

St. Mary’s Green Team 5, Loretto 0

The girls were kept busy and it was a delight to see them score three goals in the first half with a further two in the second half.

Tiggy (Captain) showed great team skills today and even after taking a knock from a stick, continued with some great stick skills and speed around the astro

Kate moved position with ease from defence to wing and displayed some good stick skills and quick thinking

Cadence displayed lovely work in midfield and confidently moved to defence in the second half

Skye demonstrated superb tackling and continued to work hard to get the ball - another great game!

Anna displayed great skills at the post today, ready to score in her centre forward position

Iona continues to show great ball skills as both right wing and defence, always keeps a close eye on the ball

St. Mary’s Gold Team 0, Loretto 2

Both teams fought from start to finish and the hosts were victorious, scoring two goals in the second half.

Lily (Captain) lead by example in her efforts to win and maintain possession of the ball in one on one challenges
Sophie displayed some superb stick and ball work in the heat of play, whilst constantly giving positive encouragement to her team mates.
Daisy’s ball hungry nature made her a great asset to the team, stopping the Loretto players in their tracks and frequently turning the possession back over to St
Mary’s.

Bea was actively looking for passes whenever she got the ball, taking onboard the pre game advice and opening up the play.
Harriet had great concentration throughout the entire game with some good side line hits.
Emma was phenomenal in defence, doing numerous goal saving clearances from inside the D up to our attacking goal.
Emerson had a lovely, positive attitude throughout the game and worked well with her team mates to pressure the oppositions defence.
