What a game! We had been nervous about this encounter as we drew 0-0 with Craigclowan at last week’s tournament; keen to keep up our winning streak we went out to practice straight after lunch.

As time was tight we decided to play two ten minute halves and it was drilled in to the girls to get a good start. They did get a good start, with a goal after 40 seconds, and another nine in the next nine minutes-a goal a minute, the Coach could ask for little more!

Craigclowan sharpened up a little after the half time break giving our defensive trio a little more work to do. Alas for our visitors the St. Mary’s girls were on top form today and showed exactly why they were the U11 winners last week, with five goals to Craigclowan’s three, today the Border lasses reigned supreme.

Another fast paced and well matched game for the B Squad. Craigclowan were short of players so instead of us lending our players we decided to play High 5-this allowed all girls to represent their own school. With High 5, the players rotate in to different positions thus allowing them to experience working in different areas of the court. I was thrilled with how the team worked together, they communicated beautifully which I think gave them the upper hand, and moved particularly well off the ball. The first half saw us score two goals to the opposition’s one, the teams were pretty well matched so there was all to play for. With one goal each in the second half, the girls were delighted to claim another victory! Great effort.

Goals: Molly C x2, Libby x1
