U11 Hockey v Fettes

Wednesday 2nd November
St. Mary’s -1: Fettes-0

U11 Hockey 2 november

Captain: Molly S

The Under 11 team were on fire today and played their best hockey to date. The ball was passed wide, tackles were made and each girl did her job; we closed Fettes down quickly allowing them little time on the ball. Offensively we were in the ascendance for large periods of the game-we put a very competent Fettes goalie under a great deal of pressure and were unlucky to net only one of our many attempts. The first half of the game was 0-0 but just 3 minutes in to the second half Hannah C found herself on the right side of a pass from Mhairi and a well-deserved goal hit the backboard.

Anna -On your toes and ready for action it was great to hear you calling out to your defence; a great save made in the second half.
Molly S -very strong today, positioning was great; don’t be afraid to run with the ball, you have the physicality to do so.
Molly C -Brave tackles and general tenacity today-you played well in a position you do not usually play in.
Eliza -strong linking play between the attack and defence, your work rate is phenomenal and stick work improving weekly-remember to keep both hands on the stick!
Rosie -the best I have seen you play-fabulous positioning and real grit and determination-you are strong on the ball and have super vision.
Sumaiyah -an excellent game today, positionally very effective and you tracked back well-some fantastic interceptions.
Libby -So much more confident you really involved yourself and worked hard to regain possession; fitness levels are fantastic!
Mhairi -some super runs and very good positioning, don’t be afraid to call for the ball for you are good at protecting it; stay composed in front of goal…and shoot!
Hannah C -Firing on all cylinders today, fab skills and much better spatial awareness; keep the ball close and work the space, you have the talent to do so.

Well done girls, I am proud of you all.
