Wednesday 11th October 2016
On Wednesday morning, Reception class headed off to Harestanes in the mini bus for an autumn walk. They were all very excited. Emily came too and thankfully the rain stayed away and the sun managed to appear.
Melissa the Countryside Ranger took us on a lovely walk where we looked for seeds, berries, flowers, leaves and nuts to stick onto our little “passports”. Melissa told us lots of interesting things on the way and we even planted beechnuts hoping that they might grow into beech trees.
We had great fun and the children particularly enjoyed holding a mirror to their nose and seeing the leaves on the trees high above them. Melissa was most impressed as the children sang their autumn songs to her on the way back. A first for Melissa on an autumn walk!
Well done Reception and thank you Emily for coming on the walk with us.
