U10 Hockey v Compass School

Wednesday 5th October
Compass 3, St. Mary’s 1

U10 Hockey v Compass 51016

Our fourth match of the season will go down as a huge learning curve.

From the outset we were in for a tough battle as our hosts displayed some wonderful ball skills, clever stick control and powerful precise passing.  By the end of the first half I was pleased to see a 1-1 draw so we prepared for a further fifteen minutes to try to notch up some goals.  Unfortunately, the Compass defence were tight and kept the net covered at all times as well as accurately pass the ball out wide to their midfield and onto attackers which resulted in them scoring another two goals.

Although we are disappointed about the final score, I am sure the girls will return victorious in future matches as long as we work on the areas of the game that let us down today.  Let’s try to work on all these areas before our next match.  Come on girls, you can do it!
