U10 Hockey v Clifton hall 2191

Our visitors arrived as we were warming up, so we quickly assembled in our 9-aside positions after Clifton Hall won the toss and gained first pass.

The first half proved to be rather frustrating for everyone as play was close knit and mainly up the central area of the pitch.   With a few reminders about finding space and looking up before passing during the first part of the match and in our half time break, we turned a corner!

I was delighted to see the girls get into their stride and score an amazing FOUR goals in the second half.  The opposition kept protecting their goal well but rarely had the chance to score due to our tight defence trio.

Match summary
Willa – fabulous as sweeper and also confidently moved to midfield
Anna – kept her eye on the ball while being reliable and strong in defence
Emily – continued to tackle for the ball and showed versatility in different positions
Emma – gaining confidence with stick skills and was keen to get the ball
Imo – determined player who never gives up and is a great motivator for others
Libby – displayed great skills and concentration today (1 goal)
Freyja – our Captain today who showed her wonderful speed and skill around the pitch
Elsa – a skilled player with super stick skills (2 goals)
