Melrose in Bloom

Earlier in the term Mrs Neilson from Melrose in Bloom had approached the Art Department to ask if we would like to design some posters to promote Melrose as a beautiful place to visit. The little artists of Kindergarten, Reception, Form 1 And Form 3 took up the call to create. They then set to work considering the marvellous flowers that complement the backdrop of the Abbey and the Eildons. Charming paintings and collages were made and then sent to the judges at Melrose in Bloom. Then the lovely news came through that Hugo(Kindergarten)  Callum (Form 1) had received certificates of commendation and that Archie (Reception) had gained first place and Izzy (Form3) had come second. A huge well done to all.

The folks at Melrose in Bloom were kind enough to donate book tokens to Archie and Izzy which is very much appreciated. Watch out for a selection of our designs being displayed in the shopfronts of Melrose in August. It was super to be able to support the volunteers of Melrose who do so much to keep Melrose looking fabulous and fingers crossed as they progress to the next stage of the Beautiful Scotland competition.
