Under 10 Triangular

Triangular with Cargilfield and Belhaven
Wednesday 11th May

We arrived to see the other two teams play against each other and could see it was a close match.
As we took our places in batting order to play against Cargilfield I was delighted to see how calm and confident our team looked.  Soon we were notching up lots of half rounders with some excellent batting and clever tactical thinking.  Moving into fielding, we were also very strong managing to stump players out along with a lovely catch by our bowler to get a player out.  We were delighted with our winning score.
Our second match of the day proved to be a slow start.  We started batting well but could not get into a rhythm to be quick enough to get to 2nd post to score.  Nevertheless, we were confident moving into fielding and quite quickly caught a player out.  We made some rushed judgements sending the ball to the wrong post or not throwing or catching accurately which lead to the opposition winning by 2½ rounders.
With one win and one defeat, we left the city with our heads up high and our tummies full of popcorn!
Congratulations to the girls today on your energy, enthusiasm and effort!
Team included Hannah C, Maria, Anna, Molly C, Molly S, Lucy, Lara, Eliza, Libby, Hannah F, Sumaiyah and Mhairi, along with our two captains for the day, Rosie and Amelie.
