St Mary’s U10B settled into their positions early in the match against Fettes and played some entertaining netball. The teams were evenly matched and the score after the first quarter was 0-0. Both teams continued to play well and in a friendly but competitive spirit. The St Mary’s team (and their supporters!) were thrilled when they scored a goal in the second quarter taking the team into the lead. The defence worked particularly hard to keep the ball out of the defending circle. They intercepted many passes into the circle, thwarting potential goals, and dealt with them swiftly to move the ball into the St Mary’s attacking half.

This was an evenly matched and low scoring game in which St Mary’s started the final quarter one goal up. A change of positions by Fettes and the discovery of a new shooter allowed Fettes to very quickly score 3 goals making the final score 3-1 to Fettes. A disappointing result after leading throughout most of the match but St Mary’s should be pleased with their performance and good team work.
