Public Benefit
The staff and Governors of St. Mary's recognise that the school has a clear responsibility to both the local and wider communities in terms of Public Benefit. These are some of the ways in which St. Mary's school endeavours to fulfil that responsibility:
Public Benefit
- We provide an excellent all-round education to boys and girls aged 3 - 13.
- We offer qualified support to children who have additional learning needs.
- We give open access to our facilities (buildings and grounds) to a number of organisations, both local and from further afield.
- We are currently in the process of applying to the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music to become an examination centre for the Scottish Borders.
- We offer means tested Bursary awards (see Bursaries page) designed to encourage access to St. Mary's to children who otherwise would not be able to afford the school fees.
- Pupils are regularly engaged in charitable fundraising activities.
