Learning

Along with the development of all our pupils' creative capacities, other key elements in the education provided at St. Mary’s are:
  • A sound understanding of numeracy and the application of Mathematics.
  • A sound ability in literacy – an ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Enough familiarity with computers and other technology to retrieve and use information easily.
  • A thorough grounding in literature and in the social sciences.
  • A knowledge of the physical sciences and the world environment.
  • A mastery of at least one foreign language and/or culture.
  • An appreciation of the cultural heritage of Britain and Europe.
  • A concern for physical health.
  • An understanding in moral education, citizenship and the law.
  • A responsibility for the Environment.
  • The ability to identify problems and to work creatively towards solutions.
