Learning

Along with the development of all our pupils' creative capacities, other key elements in the education provided at St. Mary’s are:

A sound understanding of numeracy and the application of Mathematics.
A sound ability in literacy – an ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Enough familiarity with computers and other technology to retrieve and use information easily.
A thorough grounding in literature and in the social sciences.
A knowledge of the physical sciences and the world environment.
A mastery of at least one foreign language and/or culture.
An appreciation of the cultural heritage of Britain and Europe.
A concern for physical health.
An understanding in moral education, citizenship and the law.
A responsibility for the Environment.
The ability to identify problems and to work creatively towards solutions.
